Doug Raines, the former Campbell River city manager, has been hired as chief administrative officer at Tsawwassen First Nation.
Raines was the top administrator in the Vancouver Island city for 12 years before joining TFN on September 1.
“This is an amazing opportunity,” Raines told Klahowya in early October. “I’m in my fourth week and every day has been really interesting. I’m surrounded by great, competent people.”
He said he couldn’t resist applying for a job “filled with all the challenges and opportunities in setting up a brand new level of government in Canada and all the potential for new development here”.
Raines and his wife have moved to Tsawwassen. He formerly lived in Whitehorse where his two stepsons now work in the mining industry.
